Are you a tweeter? Or a twit? Or is it a twitter? oh who knows

Anyone out there tweet? How exactly does it work? Do tweets go right to your phone or your email? Do you find them a good way to connect with others?

Every once in a while I toss around the idea of becoming a tweeter. Or course then I stop and think and realize that 140 characters of what's on my mind multiple times thru the day probably isn't going to be high on anyone's list of things to keep up to date on.

Eh, then again... how is that different then my blog!

So all in all... what's your opinion of twitter?

Oh and don't forget to sign-up for the Valentine Swap below!

{update} So I've taken the plunge, you can find me on twitter as mrs_flyboy I am well aware that no one needs to know the minute to minute details of my life but I've been curious to try it out and well.... I'm heading in. If I don't ever surface someone send in a search party.}

  1. I have Twitter...but I never use it. I just never really got into it and it just seemed like one more website to waste hours of my life.

  2. Same here! ^^^^

I have an account and absolutely never use it. I gave it a good effort in the beginning and just couldn't for the life of me figure out why everyone liked it so much. I guess maybe if you have alot of your friends on there it's kind of interesting to see what they're up to. (Facebook is so better for that though!) Mostly it just seemed like a giant time such to me.

  3. I tweet (2pawsdesigns). Usually little tidbits that I don't feel like expanding into a full blog post. And I have it linked to automatically update my facebook status to my latest tweet.

  4. I Tweet and have a very large MilSpouse family online (just in the last two weeks!). Join us. I'm wifeyofasailor.

We actually have great conversations and help each other. Plus, more traffic to your blog :) Let me know if you need any help!

  5. I have this exact same dilemma. I am resisting twitter for the same reason I resisted Twilight. But obviously that one was a fail, so Twitter might be next on my things I said I wouldn't do.

  6. I finally caved a few months ago and got Twitter. I mainly use it to promote my blog. I don't have a phone with internet {I know, I'm in the stone age} so I just go to twitter.com to check my tweets. I prob check a couple times a day, but I'm not that into it

  7. I'm not an all day, every day, minute-by-minute rundown of my life kind of Twitter user, so I wasn't sure if it would turn out to be my thing. I'm starting to discover that the most compelling way for me to use it is to join the ongoing conversation amongst other MilSpouses. It's nice to have a little low-key chit-chat with others in the community without the formality that sometimes accompanies a full-on, thought-out blog post.

Here I am, if you'd like to say hello: ToTheNth on Twitter.

  8. I do not tweet. Or whatever it is. I just don't see a need for everyone to know what I'm doing at any given moment. Some people update their facebook status with nearly the same frequency, so why do both?

  9. Welcome! You should be getting some followers (I tweeted about you).

  10. I keep debating it as well... but I have realized that as soon as I start something I either get addicted to it or could care less, and I dont really like either! So I have just stayed away.

  12. I signed up once upon a blue moon...but I've never gone anywhere with it. I thought I'd do it to follow certain people's tweets (or whatever) but after then using nearly all my allotted messages for the month (in received texts) and realizing that nearly all these people simultaneously post their twitter as their facebook status, I gave it up. I haven't deactivated mine yet, because I'm lazy like that.

  13. I signed up for Twitter a little while ago but can't seem to get the hang of it. I'm not online a lot and my cell phone coverage out here in the sticks is very spotty at best so I'm not sure this is the best way for me to keep in touch. Anyway, I am listed at Lemon_Stand if anyone wants to give me an assist in learning the ins and outs.

  14. I got your notice that you added me...only, you actually added my church (whom I tweet for, lol). I will find you and add you to my REAL twitter account!

  15. I have Twitter and I love it (I just followed you, btw)! I was super skeptical, but now I'm a huge fan. I've met so many incredible military spouses and other folks who have been there through this deployment when nobody else is. I can honestly say that Twitter is what's getting me through this year. Maybe kind of a sad statement, but I don't care! Whatever works, right?! :)

  16. I had Twitter, but never used it, so I deleted it. I didn't see the point bc I kept it private, and the people I was friends with, I'm friends with on FB so they already knew my status.

  18. I'm really enjoying reading your blog! I'm new to the whole blogger world, and it's nice reading about fellow military spouses. Looking forward to future posts! And BTW, I don't Tweet, but I wouldn't be opposed to it.

  19. I'm on twitter, I enjoy tweeting with some of the local media, and fellow military spouses as well since there's not any I really know in real life. I'll also use it at work when I'm bored, helps pass the time. I enjoy the funny things you write about on your blog, so I hope you'll have an opportunity to tweet about some of those things as well.
