And now the rest may know

It looks like we are in store for another boy.

I know. Let it all sink in for a moment friends. I had too.

So not only do I live (at least sometimes) with a manly Marine and two very active little rough and tumble boys, a third will be making his presence in our house September first. (or so they say.)

The only feminine thing in this house is tampons. Well and me.

No pink for me, only varying shades of blue. And Marine green, we got tons of that around here. The thought of another boy is a tad daunting, do you know how much the fully grown boy around here eats? Thank goodness the Marine Corps takes him off my hands, how in the world will I feed three full grown hims?!

When flyboy finally called last night we had a very meaningful thirty second conversation. I gotta be honest, I was expecting a little more out of it but it was more of a here's what we are having gotta go call. A little anti climatic to be honest.

He called this afternoon and sounds more excited. Thrilled actually, he was rooting for a boy and we are the envy of some of his coworkers with our amazing run of boys. I asked if he said anything to anyone, so far he's kept this pregnancy pretty mum, apparently this was news worth reporting. To everyone.

All we really want is a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy. Given the past it seems greedy to want much more.

But I am going to have a lot of say over the name....

  2. HOORAY!! I'm sure you were eager for a tiny pinch of pink, here and there, but at least you don't have to spend tons of money on new stuff, right?

I'm rooting for a healthy mom and healthy baby. *cheers to health*

Congratulations! And think of it this way: one PMSer is WAY more than enough. Coudl you imagine 2 at once? I sure couldn't! So maybe it's better off this way! ha ha

  3. Glad you got to talk to him and tell him! I bet he's out bragging that he makes all boys! Congrats! I can't wait to hear all the new stories there will be with 3 little Dashes running around!

  4. Congrats! I was hoping for a girl for you, so you'd at least have an ally (sp?) but like you I think a healthy baby more than fits the bill. :)

  5. Yay! Someone else who is having a boy! I'm sure he's walking around saying "Marines make boys" or something equally silly. Perhaps you should get a female pet to fight the onslaught of testosterone. Or paint the house pink.

  6. Another boy! How exciting! You're going to have fun with them :) Congratulations!

Now you are officially the reigning queen of your house. No one to try and overthrow you in 15 years, haha.

It must be the season for boys. Everyone I know who's pregnant right now is having one. (I think you make the 7th person!) My best girlfriend in Ny is having her 3rd boy in June and my best friend here on base is due any minute with her 4th boy! Holy testosterone! lol

    Congrats girlfriend! :)

I love what Mrs. Staff Sgt. said, "you'll be the reigning queen." So true, so true.

  10. Awwww congrats!! Think of it this way, you will have three adorable little boys who look up to you and think they will never find a woman who is as perfect as you. :)

And try to not think of your grocery bill when they are all middle-high school age...

  11. Yeah for a boy! You will be boy-mom professional by the time this one makes his entrance!

And because I am nosy I saw you phonics comment on another blog. May I suggest Abeka? They have some really great phonics stuff. Handbook for reading, blend and word book, flashcards, phonics readers. :)

  17. To be honest, half of me wanted to see a little pink in your life as well. The other half though? Just healthy you, healthy baby. So we'll just go for that! Hugs

  18. A third boy will be perfect! And yes, I'd say you get full naming rights to this one!!! Congrats to you on another healthy little guy!

  19. Congratulations. Don't fret two much. I have two boys and one girl. To be honest the boys were easier. No hormonal fits and they did not care what t-shirt they would wear to school. But I know what you mean. I wanted all three to be girls but if I had three of my daughter I think I would of went crazy. BTW, she should have been a boy, she wrestled boys in high school and went on to become a MP in the Army.

  20. How about letting your blog friends name baby boy? I am certain we could come up with a really great name, he-he! After being around girls during the days, well I think I would prefer a house of boys but you never know right?

  21. Flyboy's take on a third boy made me grin, what is it about men and having boys anyway? After reading your blog for some time, I have no doubt you will be able to hold your own even with four boys in the house!

  22. I'm so excited for you either way but I'm a little upset its not a girl :( Either way I'm super excited and cant wait to meet him.

  23. Congrats!?! I am so excited for you, and I know another boy will have a blast with your entire clan!
Just think you will be able to produce three wonderful boys that will make wonderful men (husbands and dads) thanks to you....
    oh yeah, and flyboy too!

  24. I recommend buying a cattle prod because you are going to be herding those boys everywhere! Nothing electric, but sharp enough so that they get the point.

  25. Congrats! I'm excited :)
We will be having the announcement discussion soon I am sure :)

  26. I have to agree with the roaming southerner....your producing wonderful husbands and dads in the future and it will all be because of your amazing mothering! you can always hope for the daughter-in-law thats more like a real daughter...or wink wink...a grandaughter!!!
    Congrats and best wishes!!!

  27. ALL BOYS are fun. I have 3 and you know what it's not that bad, plus you're the one who gets to be spolied by all of them, your the Queen of your household.
I just keep thinking maybe some day I'll have a grand daughter because I'm not having more kids just to TRY to get a girl.

  28. Ha, who do you think you are, Mitt Romney? (wink)
    Congrats.

  29. Yippee!!! I would have been tickled to see you with some pink, but healthy blue is good, too.

  30. Wow! I've been away too long! Congratulations! Even though a little girl would have been nice, "I have three boys" has a nice ring to it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Congratulations! I hope you like blue! My husband wants to have all boys. I'm hoping for at least one little girl!

    ReplyDelete
  32. How exciting!!!! If you feel the need for a girl, I have two that you can borrow and Junior can run with the boys.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congratulations! Lots of brothers sounds like fun to me :)

  34. My husband's office had a running joke about how submarines made them all have girls for some reason...guess your hubby's got the opposite situation going.

Hey, you have to pay for their food when they're teenagers but you know what you WON'T have to pay for? Their weddings. Heh.

  35. well i hear that boys are a terror when they are toddlers but they are a whole heck of a lot easier as teens. i'm guessing this is true because when i was a teen if it wasn't one thing, it was another and i was always crying and being dramatic. and my younger brothers are SO not like that! they just want to play sports and sometimes they get the nerve up to talk to girls (when they are burping on them).

phew i think i'd rather have a boy...

  36. I will also admit that I was keeping fingers crossed for a girl, but like someone else said, now you already have all the clothes and toys for this new baby. No need to buy a pink winter coat, etc. :)

I am sooooooo happy for you about everything going well this time around, it just makes me smile so big when I think about it. :-D

    *hugs*

  37. Ok, I'm slow reading this because I have too much going on right now, but I wanted to say congrats! While there is a small hankering inside to have a girl, I really do hope if we have a third it will be a boy. Boys are something I understand, and I love the craziness of them. Girls, well, I fear we will fight more than anything.

  38. Congrats!! And I know what you mean about having say over the name, if you're carrying him for 9 months, you definitely should get the final decision! Good luck, I'll be thinking of you and am sure everything (no matter the gender) will be perfect!
