People, check, double check that your not hitting reply all.
Especially when your hitting reply all to an invitation to the monthly coffee hosted by the CO's wife and your calling her out on when she scheduled it and some other "drama" issues around the base. And you just aired all your dirty laundry and predisposition to be "the base" crazy wife to any and all wives on that list.
And no it was not me that hit reply all. I'm just sitting on the sidelines wondering what the heck is going on that I obviously know nothing about!
And shoot, maybe I'll actually go to this month's coffee.
But again, lets just go over this one more time. Check, recheck, and recheck again that you did not just hit reply to all.

ReplyDeleteI consider "reply all" to be a weedout tactic. Those who usually reply all to emails are people who get moved down my list.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was working for D3ll, there was a guy who used it so much that we made a screen shot of his email program and removed the reply all button and then pasted it over his email screen when he stepped away for a moment. Man, did he flip when he couldn't find it!
i think the reply all button should be forever deleted!! it gets people into way much trouble.

ReplyDeleteFirst off I think you should go. Second the only time that has come in handy in my life is when its family inolved esp with my grandma right now. reply to all can get you in a lot of trouble.

ReplyDeleteI never use that button. I'm even so horrid as to "clean" emails I forward or answer so there is no unnecessary crap in there to clog the interwebz with.
For the first time I actually wanted to call you up so I could hear what the whole thing was about. Yeah, I vote you should go to the coffee.

Haha, I have received a few of those kinds of emails. Once someone accidentally replied to all the other women in my church about how her son was not allowed to hang out with someone else's daughter (both teenagers) because his homework was suffering. Yikes; I would have been mortified if I were him.

This cracks me up! I hate the reply all, as well. I hate it when I receive emails that way. I always hope it's an accident (as it sounds in this particular case) but usually suspect there is some passive/aggressiveness going on! Yikes!
ReplyDeletethe only time I hit reply all is when I am forwarding a snopes link to some stupid forward that wasn't checked first. This way, EVERYONE who was messaged knows it's a hoax. I don't forward much...
ReplyDeleteoh, crap. haha, i keep thinking, what if i become that person that the mrs. always warns me about? i'm not sure why i'd wear PJ's to the commissary, and i don't get e-mails from the CO's wife, but still. it haunts me.

ReplyDeleteLOL. Reply all drives me crazy unless it's needed to coordinate with multiple people. I think gmail makes it more bearable as it stacks them all together and doesn't flood the inbox.. :)
